Weekly Blog: New Faces, New Favourites & a Night of Motown Magic

Updated: Apr 14

What a whirlwind of a week we’ve had here at the salon — full of new beginnings, exciting trials, and some well-earned celebrations! Come to your Harlow Hair Salon at Tiaras

To kick things off, we’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Erica to our team! She dove head-first into her first week with us, and we didn’t exactly ease her in gently… she had a fully booked-out first day (baptism by fire, right?), but she absolutely smashed it. From the moment she walked through the door, Erica brought such a great energy with her — calm, confident, and totally in her element. It already feels like she’s been part of the team forever, and we can’t wait to see all the gorgeous transformations she’ll be creating.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, I’ve been playing with something new — and I think I might be in love! I’ve been trialing a new colour brand called Neäl & Wølf, and let me just say… WOW. Their oil cream bleach is a total game-changer. It’s super gentle on the hair, so perfect for our clients who want that lighter, brighter lift without compromising on hair health. But don’t let the gentleness fool you — the lift is seriously impressive. It’s officially earned a spot on my favourites shelf (and might be my new ride-or-die in the salon). It’s always exciting discovering products that not only perform well but also care for the hair — double win!

And because all work and no play isn’t how we roll, we wrapped up the week with something a little special… early birthday celebrations and a night out with some of my amazing team. We hit up a Motown evening, and honestly, it was everything. The music, the dancing, the vibes — pure joy. We laughed, we sang (some of us better than others, no names mentioned), and we danced our hearts out. It’s moments like these that really remind me how lucky I am to be surrounded by such an incredible group of people — not just colleagues, but friends.

So all in all, it’s been one of those weeks that leaves you feeling inspired, grateful, and just a little bit tired (in the best way). Here’s to more exciting changes, creative colour work, and making time for the little celebrations along the way.

Bring on next week — we’re ready for you!
